Wynn CEO Maddox - Cultural Integrity

Richard Velota’s article in the Las Vegas Review Journal captured a bigger than life example of cultural integrity as he described Maddox’s interview with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. I urge you to read it in its entirety as it speaks to the essence of cultural integrity – being who we say we are.

Maddox notes being the first to shut down in Las Vegas – before the mandate and keeping all 30,000 employees on during the closure. It was the right thing to do and shareholders hated it.

“…every person that’s alive today will remember 2020. And you know what they’re going to remember? How they were treated.’”

A culture of integrity is one that acts in alignment with the values it espouses. It is visible and tangible from all angles, employee, guest and community. Maddox’s words bring this home:

“This is our opportunity to remind people who we are and we step in when times are tough and they are going to remember it,” he said. “Customers are going to remember it. Our employees are going to remember it. Our elected officials are going to remember it. This is our moment to walk the walk.”

Thank you to the Journal, Velotta, and the Latin Chamber of Commerce for bringing this inspiring glimpse of leadership from CEO Maddox.
